Today was the second session of the Advent Retreat in Daily Living I am offering at UST Law School this year. The theme of this year’s retreat is Voices of Advent.
As we usually do, the participants spent some time sharing in small groups the fruits of their prayer during this past week with Zacharias and Herod, the voices, respectively, of disbelief and of fear. We then addressed some questions relating to that prayer and spent some time talking about the transformation we are called to as disciples of Christ.
I then offered a reflection about the two voices participants will pray with this week: Elizabeth, the voice of blessing and joy, and John the Baptist, the voice of preparation (and one of my favorite Advent figures).
