Lent Retreat in Daily Living – Week 3

This is the third week of the Lenten Retreat in Daily Living I’m giving at UST and at St. Hubert’s. During this past week, the prayer focused on sin (Week One of the Spiritual Exercises). This week, the prayer moves into Week 2 of the Spiritual Exercises, which is all about seeking the grace fo know, love and follow Jesus more closely. During the session, which began (as each of our sessions do) with a period during which the participants engage in small group sharing of their prayer experience during the prior week, I gave a talk briefly addressing the early discourgement that sometimes arises during a retreat like this, introducing the Ignatian Triple Colloquy, and then talking about the transition between Week 1 and Week 2 of the Spirtiual Exercises. Near the end of the talk, I also speak a little about the prayer material for the upcoming week.

You can find the recording of the talk I gave this week at St. Thomas here. (The podcast runs for 23:40.) You can find here a copy of the prayer material for the second week of the retreat.
