Advent Reteat in Daily Living (Part 3)

This is the third week of the Advent Retreat in Daily Living I’m giving at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. During the first week, our prayer focused on the prophets of Advent and the prophets in our lives. In week two, the retreat prayer focuses on the long Advent prior to the birth of Jesus.  This week we focus on preparing ourselves for Christ’s coming.  The talk I gave at our session together addressed the reality of God’s already dwelling in us as we prepare our dwelling for the coming of Christ at Christmas. Henri Nouwen wrote, “We can only wait if what we are waiting for has already begun for us. Waiting is never a movement from nothing to something. It is always a movement from something to something more.”

You can find the talk here . The prayer material for this third week of the retreat, which I give some explanation of during the latter part of the talk, can be found here
